Elvis Priestly rocks Anglicans

“Well it's one for the Father, two for the Son, three for the Holy Spirit and your life has just begun,”sings Dorian Baxter to the tune of Blue Suede Shoes.

Part preacher, part entertainer, Baxter, who also calls himself Elvis Priestly, uses his Elvis Presley persona to attract members to Christ the King Graceland Independent Anglican Church of Canada. Anglican church elders frown on the Elvis-themed antics, but supporters on the northern fringe of Toronto's metropolitan area are raving. "He's an absolute blessing," says Nancy Lacasse, who recently drove 35 miles to see Baxter. To those who believe his ministry is in bad taste, Baxter says, "Don't be cruel to a heart that's true."
