You can turn summer days with children into a season of spiritual growth

Spiritual practices aren't just for adults. Children come naturally to many of the time-honored ways that people use to get closer to God and to feel connected with family, friends, community and the natural world. They can teach adults about enthusiasm, being present, imagination and wonder.

As you watch children at play — whether your own or youth you don't even know — consider them your spiritual teachers, who help you learn how to relish every precious moment of summertime.

You can be teachers, too, by introducing some of the following activities as a family or as part of your congregation's vacation Bible school.
