A year after she was shot twice and almost bled to death in the shooting at Columbine High School, Littleton, Colo., Anne Marie Hochhalter anticipated her May 20 graduation — with honors. Next fall the member of Christ Lutheran Church, Highlands Ranch, Colo., plans to enroll at Arapahoe Community College.
Spine damage has left Hochhalterparalyzed from the waist down. She will live at home while attending Arapahoe and then hopes to transfer to Colorado State University, Fort Collins, to study psychology. "I like to know how the mind works," she says.
But her big hope for the future: "To walk."
