Eyes on Atlanta

Lutherans will provide hospitality to visitors and new residents during the Olympics and beyond

When the rest of the world thinks of American cities, it envisions the skyscrapers of New York, the movie lights of Los Angeles or perhaps the windy streets of Chicago. But for 18 days this month, the planet will watch the best athletes compete for the honor of their countries in the land of peaches and grits called Atlanta.

And during the weeks that Atlanta takes the world stage, groups like Lutherans Welcome '96 hope to show that not only is Southern hospitality alive and well, but it also has strong spiritual roots.
