An immigrant church again?

A new wave of immigrants brings challenges to the ELCA

Russians gather for worship at Freedom of Faith Lutheran Church in Philadelphia. Arabs meet in a church once filled with Danes in Brooklyn, N.Y. Chinese, who a short time ago hadn't heard the name of Jesus, are members of a new Chinese Lutheran church in Queens, N.Y.

Ethiopians, Liberians, Namibians, Tanzanians, Eritreans, Ghanians and Africans from a host of other countries worship at Grace Lutheran Church in Washington, D.C., where there now are two African choirs, one singing in English and the other in Swahili.
