We are immersed in the sea of God's mercy

Christian spirituality is the way God's Spirit gives shape and direction to the lives of God's people. The Spirit's presence and activity in our lives is a gift of God's grace. This, however, does not exclude our cultivation of this life.

Lutherans have preferred certain disciplines that encourage our life in the Spirit. Participation in the sacraments of baptism and the eucharist are central among these. Instituted b y Jesus , these activities convey God's gracious forgiveness by making use of ordinary things--water, wine, bread and words--as channels of the divine.
