Meeting in Woodland Hills, Calif., March 4-10, the ELCA Conference of Bishops spent almost two days discussing Lutheran perspectives on evangelism, part of a process to more deeply integrate the ELCA Evangelism Strategy into their synods’ ministries.
Richard Bliese, dean of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., led the bishops through a detailed examination of how evangelism has been defined and the various traditions affecting Lutheran approaches to mission and evangelism.
