The Magazine of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

Moving experience for Augsburg Fortress

With its move to new offices Dec. 12, Augsburg Fortress, Publishers, scheduled two events to mark the transition.

"A celebration of thanksgiving and remembrance" was held Nov. 5. It featured speakers from the two publishing houses that merged in 1988 to form Augsburg Fortress--Albert E. Anderson of Augsburg and Robert Endruschat of Fortress; Marvin L. Roloff, current publishing house executive officer; ELCA Secretary Lowell Almen; and David W. Preus, presiding bishop of the former American Lutheran Church, which had its offices beside the house's complex at 426 S. Fifth St. in Minneapolis.

When the publishing house moves, employees will process down Fifth Street from the old to the new facilities at 100 S. Fifth St. Former publishing house employees are invited to take part in the Dec. 12 ceremony.
