Theravada Buddhism shapes the culture of Thailand. Christianity and Islam are minority communities in the country, which doesn't have a Lutheran church. But Lutherans do carry on a variety of work there.
The Church of Christ in Thailand serves as the primary companion of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. With 60,000 members, the CCT is the largest Protestant church in Thailand. The ELCA placed a missionary on the CCT's theological faculty and has supported communication and women's leadership programs.
