Paula Connor had a glimpse that her summer peace camp works when a boy, sensing a fight was brewing, said excitedly, "We're having a conflict. OK, let's sit down and talk about it."
Maybe not every concept gets through to the campers, but Connor has seen that it's never too early to start. And this six-year effort echoes the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's peace statement, which calls for projects that teach members to be peacemakers.
