Jell-O and kim chee

Korean church mixes affiliations and cultures

Changing your ELCA affiliation to the LCMS may seem as foreign as a potluck dinner of Jell-O and kim chee. But the International Lutheran Church in Seoul, South Korea, recently did both--and no one seemed to mind.


Here in Seoul the familiar and the foreign exist side by side, whether it's the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Lutheran Church­Missouri Synod or the spicy pickled cabbage dish infamous in Korea and the familiar red Jell-O.
