Noko: African churches must address roots of violence

The international community showed concern only about foreign nationals, not local citizens, in the recent flare-up of Liberi a's civil war, said LWF's top official.

Speaking with Geneva-based Ecumenical News International, Lutheran World Federation General Secretary Ishmael Noko also strongly criticized the inability of the United Nations and the West African pea cekeeping force ECOMOG to prevent the resurgence of violence that swept the capital city of Monrovia in April.
