Each year, ELCA members give to their
congregation an average of $334 in undesignated offering. That money
funds local, regional, national and international ministries. For every
$100 you place in the offering plate*:
$91 remains with your local congregation for its mission and ministry, such as worship (right).
Your congregation shares some of the $91 withcal ministries outside its walls, such as a food pantry.
Your congregation sends $9 in mission support to your synod.
Your synod uses $4.30 for synod expenses such as the care and development of congregations, rostered staff, congregational leaders and resources.
The synod also supports seminaries, schools, camps, campus ministries and social services.
Your synod sends $4.70 to the churchwide organization.
