Assembly highlights

The Sierra Pacific Synod spotlighted AIDS/HIV education. The synod displayed four panels of the AIDS quilt and had a dramatic reading with people portraying HIV/AIDS sufferers.

At the Oregon Synod assembly, more than 50 voices from the chorale group of Central Lutheran Church, Eugene, Ore., celebrated Lutheran heritage accompanied by the congregation's famous Brombaugh organ.

At the Montana Synod assembly, Rabbi Leon Klenicki, of the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith, called on Christians and Jews to work together, to avoid contempt and discrimination and to prepare the kingdom so the Messiah can come.
