In an effort to foster discussion on one of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's most controversial issues,
Roanoke College hosted a public debate on homosexuality in the church.
The day-long event, sponsored by the Division for Church in Society, the Virginia Synod and the Salem, Va., college may be a model for moral deliberation in the church, said Robert Benne, head of Roanoke's Center for Church and Society.
