Lutherans to meet in Hong Kong

The gathering will be the first Christian conference after the handover to China

ELCA theologians will share the program with a Roman Catholic cardinal, a Palestinian cabinet minister and a Buddhist monk as the Lutheran World Federation holds the ninth assembly in its 50-year history. Meeting in Hong Kong July 8-16, the LWF assembly comes just a week after the former British territory is handed over to China.
