Last August I asked the readers of The Lutheran for help. I requested your ideas on how the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America can respond to human need and bring people to faith. Nearly 200 letters came in, mostly from individuals but also from Sunday school classes, forums and other groups. They came from states with lots of Lutherans, like Minnesota and Pennsylvania, but also from the Virgin Islands and even from a ship off the coast of Korea.
