God Bless the Moon and Now the Day is Over

For little ones, "chunky books" — or board books — are always a favorite. They also like to hear rhymes. Author Mary Joslin delightfully combines the two in God Bless the Moon and Now the Day Is Over.

It's never too soon to start reading to children, and they'll like what they hear in these books. Each contains six bedtime rhymes and blessings. They are drawn from Twilight Verses Moonlight Rhymes, winner of the gold award from National Parenting Publications.

Each page contains enough colorful art to keep children interested. The simple pictures of moons, suns, animals and children will appeal to young eyes. And the size of the books should make little fingers happy.

Now the Day Is Over (ISBN 0806640561) and God Bless the Moon (ISBN 0806640553) can be ordered from Augsburg Fortress, Publishers (800-328-4648; www.augsburgfortress.org).
