Many men who support the women's movement--in society and in the churches--have been silent supporters. Let me break my silence.
I enjoy being a man--not just because of the privileges that society cedes to men. I find delight in the strength of my body, the pride of fatherhood and the companionship of other men. However, I find no delight in being asked to prove that I'm a powerful person in my home and in my job. I find no delight in being separated from family and friends on the mistaken assumption that men don't need intimacy. I find no delight in men asserting their power or searching for intimacy through violence. I am sick of confrontational politics that ultimately lead to war.
