'I'm a missionary to my own people in a foreign land'

After living in the upper Midwest for 10 years, Dorcas Wang, a native of China, says she now speaks Chinese with a Norwegian accent. She also says that when she returns to China, she will promote the idea of potluck suppers.

Monthly potlucks, friendship meals flavored with music and the gospel, is a ministry tool Wang uses as director of the Chinese International Christian Ministry, a Lutheran outreach program in Fargo, N.D. It is supported through First Lutheran Church in Fargo, where Wang is a member, and receives funds from the ELCA Division for Outreach and donated office space from the ELCA campus ministry program at North Dakota State University.
