Prayer most popular alternative medicine

Prayer is America's favorite alternative medicine, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta.

The study found that 63 percent of adult Americans use "complementary alternative medicine" when the category includes prayer. (When the category excludes prayer, only 36 percent said they use alternative methods.)

Of those who use alternative medicine, 43 percent said they pray for their health; 24 percent say they have asked others to pray for them and 10 percent participate in prayer groups. Two percent practiced healing rituals.
