One Family, a Massachusetts-based organization, created this site to take its mission to end child homelessness nationwide. The site offers fact sheets about housing affordability in each state and includes methods for local groups to raise awareness of child homelessness. Visitors are encouraged to use the site to send an e-postcard to their preferred presidential candidate.
The ELCA's new, smartly designed advocacy site helps users make local and global connections. The site describes the ELCA's advocacy emphases, provides information for congregational advocacy and connects individuals to elected representatives. Visitors may sign up for an e-newsletter
It's not a Web site, rather, "Politics and the pulpit" is a downloadable document from the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life (you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free at www.adobe.com). The 24-page question-and-answer booklet outlines acceptable and unacceptable political practices for churches (and clergy) to maintain their tax-exempt status.
