Board of Pensions Trustees Minneapolis, Feb. 4-6

* Approved several health plan changes to take effect by Jan. 1, 2001, pending ELCA Church Council approval in April. 1) Eckerd Health Services will handle all pharmacy claims, effective July 1. 2) Value-Options, which uses pastoral counselors, will manage mental health and substance abuse benefits in a "wellness approach" that includes selected benefits such as counseling for marriage and career. 3) Dental care will be managed by a company yet to be selected. 4) Chiropractic care will be coordinated by each medical benefits provider. 5) Seabury & Smith will process medical claims for plan members under Standard Benefits and retired members with Medicare Supplement benefits.
