Two Anglican bishops, opposed to the ordination of women as bishops, plan to boycott the Lambeth Conference in July, the gathering of almost 800 bishops of the Worldwide Anglican Communion held every 10 years. Both bishops are British expatriates serving in Madagascar, Keith Benzies of Antsiranana and Donald Smith of Toamasina. The Anglican Communion has 11 female bishops, including eight in the United States, two in Canada and one in New Zealand.
