ELCA expands Internet presence

Plug in those modems! In August, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America introduced LutherWeb, an Internet access provider operated by an outside company.

LutherWeb offers a direct connection to the Internet. Subscribers use a Netscape browser programmed to start on the ELCA home page.

"Through the ELCA Advantage Program, we have been able to identify a good service at a good price," said Mike Rothaar, director of planning for the ELCA Division for Congregational Ministries. "We have a unique opportunity to communicate with a significant number of our members."
