Out of the habit

Joyce McDaniel Walczak lives in Helena, Mont., and considers herself a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. But she admits her attendance has been inconsistent in the 20 years since confirmation.

"We've gotten out of the routine," she says, echoing several in her confirmation class. "Weekend services don't fit with our busy schedules, but I like church when I'm there. You get a special feeling that you can't get at home. It's comforting."
