Grandmother turns author: 'I wanted to help'


As a new mom, Barbara Oberlander Jansen could meet her baby's basic needs. But after getting the feeding and diapering routine down pat, she asked the same question that many in her situation do: "What do I do with this baby?"

Fortunately, she asked her mother, who had just retired from 22 years as a kindergarten teacher. June R. Oberlander had plenty of answers — in fact, a book-full.
