What else to see and do in San Luis

  • Worship at La Capilla de Todos los Santos (Chapel of All Saints) at the end of the path of the stations of the cross. Services are held at 7:45 a.m. Sunday from Easter through September. On Good Friday there is a pilgrimage walk to the Shrine of the Station of the Cross starting at 4:30 p.m. The chapel is the only adobe religious structure with arches, a full dome and three half domes.

  • Stop in at Huberto's Sculpture Studio to meet the creator of the stations of the cross, Huberto Maestas, and see other works. Call (719) 672-3022/3870 to make sure he's there in the studio, located at the start of the stations.

  • Visit the San Luis Museum and Cultural Center where artifacts tell the story of the historical eras of this colonial settlement. Living arts of music, folklore and visual art animate the Hispanic heritage. Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Memorial Day to Labor Day and weekly in winter.
