A flood of support

Upper Midwest Lutherans still hurting from last year's disaster know they're not alone

Josh Wolfe steadied the electric drill, squeezed the trigger and then watched a spinning drywall screw sink into a basement wall of his house in East Grand Forks, Minn.

For the teen whose family has endured great hardship since the Red River flood one year ago this month, the task is more than carpentry. It's a step in rebuilding their lives.

Like thousands of families, farmers, businesses, schools and churches in the Red River Valley, Josh and his family struggle to recover almost a year later. And like many for whom disaster aid and stretched family finances were not enough, they are getting help from fellow Lutherans.
