The perceived loss of authentic Lutheranism in the ELCA focused the attention of more than 400 delegates and participants from 21 states at the Word Alone National Gathering at Roseville Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Minn., Nov. 15-16. The delegates represented 45 grass-roots gatherings held nationwide last fall that brought together 2,200 people concerned about Called to Common Mission, a full communion agreement with the Episcopal Church. The ELCA Churchwide Assembly approved CCM last August.
