Every March at the Academy Awards, the film industry salutes excellence by choosing the best performances and production qualities of the previous year. We honor movies for being "spiritually literate." The five films we recognize each show the transforming presence in life that can be discovered through our everyday experiences. The characters, through their actions and attitudes, demonstrate spiritual practices that are important aids in our recognition of this truth.
