Fine arts committee generates life in the congregation, community

Singing, dancing, music and acting may not be traditional ways to reach out to the community. But at Irving Park Lutheran Church, Chicago, the arts work just fine. That's why the congregation formed the Irving Park Fine Arts Committee.

The committee started four years ago with two goals: 1) To provide the community with high-quality professional musical and theatrical events with little or no admission costs; and 2) To provide professional Chicagoland musicians, theatrical directors, dancers and actors an avenue for performance and artistic growth.

Concerts and performances are held in the church sanctuary or gymnasium. A council member represents and oversees the ministry through a subcommittee.
