D.C.-area congregations work with Muslims

The the Islamic Saudi Academy — which with nearly 1000 students from kindergarten through high school is the largest Islamic school in the Western Hemisphere — is located one-and-a-half miles from Nativity Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Virginia.

Nativity and its pastor, Thomas A. Prinz, have gathered names of pastors willing to serve as resources to the Islamic school's administration.

"If there are any acts of disrespect, we're willing to go to the school immediately and help diffuse the situation," says Prinz. Teachers from the school are also exploring work with adult and confirmation age study groups at area Christian churches.
