Just living

Imagine a relationship with your closest friend, someone who knows the significant events of your life, your habits and quirks, your good and bad points. She accepts and forgives you when you fall short. This friend helps you to be a better person, encouraging and helping you to do good, challenging you when you hurt others. You come to share certain values. You do good things for your friend, offering gifts from time to time. Why? Not to gain a friend but because you already are friends and care for one another.
