Rusch to NCC

William G. Rusch has been named director of Faith and Order of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A.

Rusch assumes his duties in late spring. He has been a member of the governing board and vice president of the NCC. Rusch also is a member of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches and of the WCC's Faith and Order Commission.

Prior to this appointment, Rusch served the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as director of its Department for Ecumenical Affairs from 1988 until the end of his term on Oct. 31. Earlier he served as director for ecumenical relations in the former Lutheran Church in America.
