Get going for G2K

You'll be "Dancing at the Crossroads" for the 2000 ELCA National Youth Gathering in St. Louis in less than a year. How would you like to treat your youth group to a day at the Six Flags amusement park before or after the gathering?

Just enter The Lutheran's G2K essay contest. The winning essay will be featured in the magazine and the winner's youth group will enjoy a fun-filled day at Six Flags in St. Louis--on us. Your essay should tell us what your youth group is doing to get ready for G2K (you can talk about one experience or the whole process) and what it means to you personally and spiritually.

Here are the details:

Essay topic: "Getting going for G2K."

Length: 400 to 500 words.

Deadline: Feb. 1, 2000. (The winner will be announced March 1.)

Other information to include: Your name and phone number, which gathering you'll be attending (June 28-July 2 or July 5-9), your congregation's name and location, and a recent photo of you.

Prize: Free day at Six Flags in St. Louis for you and your youth group (up to 25 people).
