Gallery hopping in downtown Cleveland took art aficionados to "Heaven & Hell" one September weekend when they stopped in at The EDGE. That gallery is part of the Lutheran campus ministry program at Cleveland State University.
They saw visions of bliss and the abyss in 50 drawings, paintings, mixed media and sculptures by members of the Northern Ohio Illustrators Society who chose The EDGE as their venue. The theme was their choice, too, says Rachel Way, 20, who manages the gallery as a ministry intern. The coming together of art and faith seems natural to the senior art major who also is president of the student fine arts organization. "We are part of creation," she says. "And as creative beings ourselves, we mirror our Creator."
