Bishops lend support

Jeff Barrow, bishop of the Greater Milwaukee Synod, was one of 400 religious leaders who called on President Barack Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency to limit carbon emissions from coal-burning power plants. Barrow told local media: “The environment has been a topic that’s been very important in the life of the church in the world. … You get up on Capitol Hill and you realize there is great silence about environmental issues today and you wish there would be some kind of honest dialogue about a topic that affects everybody.”
