Ania Moriarty, who will be 4 in June, is prolific in both art and spirit. Since October she has been battling a rare form of childhood cancer, retinoblastoma, which resulted in the removal of her left eye in March. She has painted her way through cancer, and her colorful and popular paintings are selling out on www.etsy.com/shop/daintywarrior, with proceeds helping pay medical bills. Her mom, Erica (shown holding her son Kellen) draws what Ania asks her to, and her daughter does the rest. Erica and her husband Mike call Ania their “Dainty Warrior” and Erica writes a blog (daintywarrior.blogspot.com) as a chronicle of their journey and as encouragement to others. They are members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicago. Watch for the “Dainty Warrior” in a future issue of The Little Lutheran.
