New Year

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama celebrates Losar (Tibetan New Year) at Augsburg College, Minneapolis. A day earlier, the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize winner delivered a March 1 keynote address at the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Forum in Minneapolis. The spiritual leader of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism also blessed Augsburg sophomore Tenzin Yeshi Paichang (inset), who served as his student attaché. When Paichang was 2 years old, he played the young Dalai Lama in Kundun, a film by Martin Scorcese. Augsburg President Paul Pribbenow said the college is committed to “educating informed global citizens and to embracing the links between faith and learning.”
