New research reveals need for stronger marriage ministries

In June, Monica and Darryl stood before gathered friends in a New Jersey chapel and made vows of lifelong faithfulness. They fill me with hope and fear. They also make me wonder: How can our church better care for thousands of young marrieds like them?

Their journey to promise-making took them down frightening roads. Monica lost a father and brother in an utterly senseless accident that nearly destroyed her faith and joy. Darryl struggled with withering family dynamics that left little room for a young man to explore his growing selfhood.
