Cookie hospitality

There was no shortage of cookies in the David Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. The cookies came from six conferences of the host Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod. Some 450 dozen were delivered daily, although organizer Janice Jeletic said she’d only requested 200 dozen a day. Because of facility rules, the cookies couldn’t be transported on convention equipment, so Jeletic used the Internet to find carts, loaned to the synod free of charge. One baker’s husband transformed his pickup into a cookie mobile. The cookie hospitality was a first for an assembly. Jeletic estimated 25,740 cookies were consumed.
