Congregation withdrawals

As of Jan. 1, 2013, 947 congregations had taken first votes to terminate their relationship with the ELCA since the 2009 Churchwide Assembly. Those congregations took a total of 1,026 first votes. Of that total, 713 passed and 313 failed. There were 689 second votes to terminate; 654 passed and 35 failed. Some 643 congregations completed the termination process and are no longer on the roster of congregations.
