As hostilities increased between Sudan and South Sudan over oil and border disputes, church leaders worldwide condemned the April 21 destruction of the Sudan Evangelical Presbyterian Church Bible School in Khartoum.
About 500 people said to be members of a fundamentalist Islamic group attacked the church compound, burning Bibles and destroying property.
Some Muslim leaders joined Christians for prayers and condemned the incident as not representing the spirit of Islam.
