Homosexuality at issue for PCUSA, Reformed

New PCUSA moderator seeks civil discourse

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) continues to face sharp divisions over the role of gays and lesbians in church life. A recommendation to lift a ban on the ordination of practicing homosexuals was rejected at the June 19-26 meeting in Fort Worth, Texas, of the General Assembly, the 3.6 million-member church's highest legislative body.
