'Historic episcopate' still divides

Synod assemblies' votes are all over the map

Votes at ELCA assemblies held in June reveal that synods generally favor a deepening relationship with the Episcopal Church but continue to face divisions as to the nature of that relationship. See July issue, page 42, for assembly reports for synod's meeting through June 1.
