Miller (LTSS), Koerwer (Newberry) to step down; Gettysburg professors receive NSF grants; St. Olaf student creates game; LCM at KU gets a new home

Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary President Marcus J. Miller will retire at the end of August 2012. Since 2006, Miller has led the Columbia, S.C.-based seminary, which will merge with Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, N.C. "It is time for the seminary to have new leadership with a different set of gifts," Miller said, "and it is time for me to move to a new chapter in life." William B. Trexler, chair of Southern's board of trustees, praised Miller for his "faith, wisdom and grace," saying the president "will be fully engaged in the seminary's mission until his final day of service."
