Japanese Roman Catholic bishops delayed their Nov. 8 anti-nuclear message for six months due to pressure from businesses and others, said Noriko Hiruma, who is serving as the secretariat staff of the Japan Catholic Council for Justice and Peace.
"However, after facing the tragic nuclear disaster in Fukushima (in March), we regretted and reconsidered such attitude," she said."And now, we would like to call for the immediate abolishment of all the [nuclear] power plants in Japan."
