The WordAlone Network plans to build an "association of confessing congregations" that would lead to a new nongeographic synod in the ELCA.
The WordAlone board met Oct. 1-2 in Salisbury, N.C. Network members will now discuss the idea in regional meetings.
WordAlone is a group of Lutheran congregations, individuals and chapters advocating reform in ELCA governance and theology.
