The ELCA Fund for Leaders in Mission awarded 171 seminarians scholarships for the 2011-12 academic year.
Sixteen of those students were awarded full-tuition scholarships.
Three seminarians received partial-tuition mission developer scholarships from an ELCA Mission Investment Fund gift to the ELCA Fund for Leaders.
Others were given partial tuition scholarships through synod funds held within the Fund for Leaders.
The fund has grown to $30 million and awarded nearly 800 scholarships. The goal is for it to eventually provide full-tuition scholarships for every ELCA seminarian committed to parish ministry (see "Pastoral Debt").
